Description

In some areas of the country, 50% of children are entering school without the speech, language and communication skills needed for learning. Local Authorities have the power to transform the support that children with speech language and communication needs receive locally.

The Communication Trust have been commissioned by the Department for Education to deliver workshops for Local Authorities across the country. The workshops aim to provide Local Authorities with the information and tools needed to enhance support for children and young people with speech language and communication needs, enable them to reach their full potential and to fulfil statutory duties in relation to the SEND Code of Practice (2014).

What will I learn from attending this workshop?

Workshops will be delivered by highly experienced speech & language therapists and will cover topics on:

1) Children and young people with SLCN with and without EHC plans,

2) Meeting Local Needs, and

3) Embedding Joint Commissioning

Who should attend?

Anyone working within a Local Authority that works with/for children and young people either directly or on a strategic level.
